Had an accident I think I'm at fault but...
Discussion
As I was approaching a roundabout I pulled into lane 2 and there was a car beside me in lane 1. A Honda Jazz was already on the roundabout and went past, I pulled out behind the Honda but he stopped as he thought the car in lane 1 was going to pull into him, cue me slamming brakes, too late and a low speed collision of about 10mph.
Now I think its probably my fault and have no problem admitting that, but was the other driver also at fault for stopping on a roundabout? What would be the likely hood of going 50/50?
And before anyone says I DID have winter tyres on but it was above 7 degrees! Maybe they were to blame!!!

I imagine it would be quite clear cut, roundabout bumps like this are quite common as the driver is typically looking to his right when he pulls off. (Not looking if it's clear ahead to pull away) I've done it myself, I apologized to the other chap on the spot, but fortunately the speeds involved were so minor he decided to bother pursing it.

Thought as much but everyone at work has been saying "how is it your fault?!"
I figure that if I admit it I can get my car repaired quicker.
It was your fault but not really for you to admit or not. Your insurance company will make their own conclusion. Won't hold anything up.I figure that if I admit it I can get my car repaired quicker.
Should have left a gap. Other drivers should have no effect on your vehicle, in that there's always room for you to make the manoeuvre you're trying to do without even scraping anything, and if you get rid of that buffer area you have to start trusting others to not do anything too stupid.
You're definitely at fault, but you lived, and you've probably learned. Generally I wait until I'm at the front row of traffic before trusting that I can go when I want and not have to worry about some plonker jamming the anchors on

This is exactly what happened and I feel a fool for letting it happen.Olf said:
You could lie and say he was reversing the wrong way around the round-a-bout - worked for me before.
I assume you are taking the piss, nice try though!Garett said:

Nope - Anyone you crash into do the same thing - get out of the car ranting about them revising into you. It's a confidence trick that I've used a lot of times to cover up after crashes that are blatantly my fault.
I hope you never crash into me.Gassing Station | Speed, Plod & the Law | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff

You can't crash into someone, blame them and then ask for money. Well I guess you could but I'm rubbish at keeping a straight face so it wouldn't work for me.
