silly twat next door is 17 and has managed to be a complete plank.

he failed his test 2 weeks ago
and at the same time brought an astra which has been
chav-ed up 17" wheels etc spoilers

he decided to take it out on saturday with no L plates no qualified driver etc
and he manages to pull out infront of another car with it.

the fun starts when the owner of the other car follows him home to get the details of insurance etc at which point realising the kid is on a provisional and the insurance will probably be void decides to let off some steam, as things are starting to look nasty for the kid i phone bibs and they come and calm things down then take details. any idea what the kid will be facing my list is
no insurance
not licenced to drive
due care and attention

not to mention when he can leagally drive his insurance will be through the roof

the kid is now shitting him self when his parents return from holiday and find out, As i pointed out to him they was probably a reason the examiner failed him on the original test as he wasn't at the required standard, his relpy was his mates were taking the piss out of him for having a car and it sitting at home.

i have no sympathy for hin on this argument and told him as much, is peer pressure so great today that a normally sensible kid has just managed to screw up his start in motoring so well ?

There having been no accident? Sounds like road rage/harassment etc. Why would someone do this, rather than just offering coffee and getting on with it?

Not to mention breach of the peace/assualt/something like that.

Yes, sometimes. Has even been used as mitigation in court IIRC.

Despite my comments above, kid has still clearly been a tw@. But so has other driver.

certainly was an accident the front end of next doors astra is total scrap( wing, bumper nice new shiney wheel) the following home was a case of kid not having docs with him and agreeing to go home and get them.

I would imagine a lengthy ban and fine for not having a license/ insurance etc for the accident.

so, uninsured and unlicenced driver goes out, crashes car, causes grief and financial loss to fellow motorist and is generally a anyway?

Should be locked up for a while and made to pay for damage : furious:
No mitigation.

Ah - I thought you meant he'd basically cut the other guy up or similar.

He'll be in sh*te, walking for a while longer and flogging the wreck to pay the fine.

2 weeks in Barbados with an extra 10 days for bad behaviour?

Unless of course he is a good middle class boy, then he'll get sent to Chokey...

If he gave the Insurance Company CORRECT details on taking out the Policy regarding his Prov D/L (very serious offence if he hasn't) then there will be no offence committed in relation to the Insurance as his Certificate will show that person entitled to driver "holds or has held a Driving Licence and is not Disqualified from driving"

In my day seperate offences of(1) No L Plates and (2)drive when not under the supervision of a qualified driver would have been preferred but I understand it is now common practice to charge the single offence of driving otherwise in accordance with the conditions of a Licence - S 87 Road Traffic Act, 1988. 1000 note fine, discretionary disqualification - 3 -6 penalty points.

Throw in a due care (S 3 RTA 88 -2,500 quid - discretionary disq -3 - 9 points)

Whilst not mentioned and could be possible other offences of fail to stop/fail to report RTA ?

Not a very promising start to a driving career?

Sounds like a fairly standard chav / ned to me.

Will probably get away with it scot free as they always do....

Will get at least 6 points on provisional licence and fined.
Should make future insurance impossible, meaning more driving without documents.
At least he should be banned after second occasion and any further breaches will result in arrest and possible jail.
