A guy off another Forum I frequent has had a NIP for doing 138 on the M6. Like I said no lecture, it wasn't me and we all have our own view on this.

What should he expect and what's his best defence to get the minimum grief?

thanks in advance.

Its gonna depend on job and hardship really.

If he has not got a job that he can reliably prove he will lose etc he does not stand a chance.

Also if he has used the hardship one before in court then he does not stand a chance.

I would suggest a GOOD brief and hope for a lenient mag.

Mate of mine was VASCARed at 145mph over a 10mile stretch, the police only caught up with him because he saw a white van parked on a bridge and slowed down thinking it was a scamera.

Anyway, 6 points and £800 fine.

Tell your friend that next time he speeds, try and kill someone, if that happens he’ll get let off lightly with a £150 fine.

last line was a satirical joke, I am not condoning going around killing people, just pointing out how ludicrous magistrates are with their sentencing

Was he stopped at the time? If not, he may wish to consider the S172 hit.

I've seen this mentioned before. I take it is the offene of not naming the driver? What's the punishment?
