Regarding evasion/detection of speed cameras.

The BIG problem here is not that ordinary people only a few mph over the limit getting away with it (or even someone getting a bit keen at 100mph on the motorway), but complete morons who drive with zero regard for anyone else.

If we can devise a way to beat detection, the scrote will soon follow. This is not good.

Surely the message is very clear: Police should back off a bit, and concentrate on Jonny Scrote, and not on the "harmless" speeder??? this will then mean the ordinary citizens of this country can drive without fear of speed-tax persecution once more.

This is a war none of us want, and it is a pointless waste of money for all concerned. The aim of reducing road deaths has become perverted by revenue earning.

Real Police as Jeremy Clarkson mentioned, and a bit less attention to 1mph detail, at cost of neglecting the big picture.

It's gone crazy.

*sigh*

In Dorset, we have signs proclaiming "500 a week" dotted around with cutesy cartoon piccies of gatsos. I always assumed that this is the number they catch. It's not. The number we catch (heresay alert!) is 3 times that, we just don't have the admin staff to process them all.

Logically then there must be a weeding process. I guess sensibly the "just overs" get weeded first, the blurred pics, and the sidedways Land Rovers (see other post ) etc.

After that however it boils down to how easy people are to chase up and who coughs up the fastest. People who register their cars to their own addresses, have mortgages and families and jobs and don't need the hassle or consider themselves law abiding are a natural cash cow.

Scrotes who don't register, lie and say their mate from germany was driving or that the car went missing for a few days etc get off.

This just reinforces the edict that "nice guys finish last" I'm afraid.

BTW...my views in no way reflect or represent the views of the Command Team of the Dorset Police, and they all think I'm a gimp
