Hand held speed guns v's cameras

This may have been covered before OR I may also be asking a stupid question. BUT. I am assuming that fixed speed cameras have a certain period of time before they can take another photo of a speeding vehicle having just taken one ? I am guessing this time period is VERY small. My question is more to do with radar guns though - by the time the operator has taken the speed, recoded it etc, how long is it before they can take again ? I should point out that I don't know how they work so apologies if the question is a) pointless or b) stupid...

Thanks - reason for asking is probably quite obvious... I am sure many of us at some stage have assumed that because the car infront is doing 95, we can sit behind at 92 and the camera/cop will be busy with them an not us. Obviously not the case.

You're welcome mate....there is another flaw with your theory though....If a BiB is following you..it'll be you that gets pulled and not your mate....
