DVLA advise me not to sell my car.
Discussion
I have arranged to p/xmy car with a dealer for a new one. I 'inherited' a cherished number with the car, and went to the local DVLA office to sort out the retention.
No real problem, but they tell me that I should not sell my car until I have the new docs, which willtake about 4 weeks.
My new car arrives in 2 weeks. Surely everybody doesn;t have this hassle when they swap their car?
(BTW, I'm not a saddo, but having won a cherished number with the car, I dont want to lose it when I could flog it later!)

Standard DVLA line,
Providing your selling your car to a reputable outfit (hope you would'nt be buying one from one thats not!)
you wont have a problem in the unlikely event anything goes wrong
Its just a bit of goverment burocrocy(sp), if everyone hung onto their car for a month while the waited the trade would grind to a halt
