Bit of an odd one this, just walked past a Suzuki Jimmy parked near a mates house in the communal car park for the houses (just normal off street, not private) and there is a large poster on the dashboard with "Warning Car Park under Surveillance" . there appears to be a camera mounted on the dash and then the rear glass is blacked out.

Any ideas what its for ?

I had my number plates nicked a few weeks ago from the spot where the car is parked, could this be some police operation again crime, or is it more likely someone with a cctv to protect their car?

If it was a police surviellence operation, I would have thought it would be a full-on bait car.

This sounds like the owners well meant, but clumsy attempt at it.

Is odd, interestingly in these times do organisations have to advise they are performing CCTV/surveillance in areas? Thus making the covertness redundant!!

Mods: can this be move to the SPL forum, cheers

Doesn't that great as the guy above says, but in Manchester the Police have made use of Smart Cars with a camera strapped to them and just leave them parked up at junctions etc.

99.99% certainty that this is a resident anxious to protect their property.

The camera will probably be nicked overnight.

Wasn't it Manchester that a couple of unfortunates found out (to their cost) that they were trying to nick a Transit van that was manned by the SAS as part of a covert undercover exercise?
