LRC100 discontinued?

I've been told by a retailer that:

"The Target LRC 100 has now been discontinued, the Target LRC 400 (its replacement) is due in six weeks time - this will be a re-badged version of the Lidatek LE 30."

So I've been offered the US-version LE 30 at what appears to be a pretty good price. Is there any reason to think that this won't open my garage door as well in the UK as the "rebadged" LRC 400? e.g. different frequencies, sensitivity, etc? Could this be a load of retailer bollocks designed to sell me something other than what I'm after which won't work?
