I know it's just bad reporting, but at present vehicles themselves do not "lose control". However, in the "Brave New World" that B'liar and his EU cronies would like us (but not them with their use of bus-lanes and "total ignoral" of speed limits) to experience - when drivers become merely passengers in speed-controlled vehicles - reports like this might become all too familiar to us - Streaky

Accident are always reported like this. It must be something to do with not stating blame in the report ahead of an investigation and possible court action.

Should they not at least try to get the grammar correct as well as the legal aspect? I know my written english isn't brilliant but a journalist should be able to write " an out of control van".

I work with journalists.
Don't expect too much!!
'someone was nearly killed' ??
'it was very unique' ?? it's either unique or it's not isn't it?
'radiation levels double'. This was after the chernobyl incident. Yes they did. The levels were twice background count. ie 2 x next to nothing = still next to nothing.
They do have to be careful with ID's though. And a thing caled 'jigsaw ID'. this is where you might say 'a man from lincoln' in one report, then in another report say 'a parent in his twenties from lincoln' Then you might say 'an afro carribbean on income support from lincoln' All the time the jigsaw is being pieced together without any single news item IDing the person. Saying 'a van lost control' doesn't do any of this.

PS - but what can you expect when the "subbies" of today received their "education" in the 70s? I'm just waiting for the first reference to "one sheep, two sheeps" - S
