I know this does not relate to the article, but can you get done for speeding by an unmarked car that is in front of you???

i was traveling at 120ish, it was dry and daylight with hardly any traffic on the road, i was closing up to a unmarked police car in the middle lane. (he had passed me about a mile previous when i came onto the motorway) the unmarked car switched his red & blues on and shot off into the distance.(I got to about 100 metres behined him)

Am i in the sh1t? can i expect a nasty letter in the post?

What you should have done was to pull them over for speeding

Not a recognised method of detecting speeders unless fitted with Vascar.

The fact that you were not stopped indicates to me that they had other things on their minds so relax.

You can but it would be unusual and if you were it would probably be by Vascar.

You joined the wrong forum if you travel at that sort of speed young man. You are nothing less than a baby killing madman. Shame on you

Me and a mate once sat behind a marked up T5 motorway car, matched speed at a safe distance and spent about 2 junctions of a deserted M5 @ 100....

which was nice...

Sorry mate - should have realised my sick sense of humour was not right for a newbie (welcome aboard by the way). If you got a car that will go that fast and it is safe to do so ...........DRIVE IT LIKE YOU HIRED IT ! Would say drive it like you stole it, but then you might just meet my trailer! see here: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=115456&f=10&h=0

Stick around, you`ll soon get to know what we`re all like. But be warned - it`s addictive (Ask Streetcop)!
