Little snippet appeared in the paper over the weekend.

Medway Council - Kent have come up with new initiative - aimed at - I would think - more at .... pedestrians. (SCHOCK!)

They are drawing body outlines of road accident victims on the pavements at sites where someone has been run over! They are using that special police chalk which lasts for months and state that they have done this in 9 locations so far.

They are hoping that pedestrians and "speeding motorists" will take note of this.

Well... least it is not yet another speed camera!

Good idea? Will it work?

What is verdict on this one?

Anything that makes pedestrians think twice before stepping out into the road is a good thing.

If I were to exceed the speed limit (God forbid ) I doubt I'd be looking at the pavement.

I suspect that with my eyes only 3"6' above the road, I bit of chalk might be a bit hard to see anyway.

That's a really clever idea. Let's distract the motorist even more

They are on the pavement, not the road...

That'll be dead easy to spot then. And as there has been an accident, there will be a camera as well.

So whilst your'e busy trying to watch a speedo, traffic, Gatso and a chalk drawing on the pavement it's odds on your speed could go up and ... BINGO!

Kerching £60.

Mental state we live in. In both senses of the word.
