travelling at a cruise control limited 39mph thru said m25 roadworks last night in "slow" lane behind a little old lady in a corsa. gatso flashed twice as some people carrier thingy belted past in lane 3, doing i would guess 50mph +.

can only have been people carrier that triggered the gatso, as the little convoy i was in drove past a further two gatsos at same 39mph speed safely. Question can the M25 roadworks gatso's cover all 3 to 4 lanes at same time...if so will all three vehicles appear in picture...as a gatso is not a laser type point and click type device how does Mr Scamera partnership tell which vehicle gets the NIP ? I assume the second flash means two photos and they work it out from that which was the offending vehicle ?

On the two photos the camera takes there is a lane number which lets the scamera checker person to ascertain which vehicle was doing the 'bad' speed.

So you're in the clear.

I hope you're patting yourself on the back for keeping to that speed limit through the roadworks...

Think of the anguish the other driver is now facing..

streetcop....yes it was a small pat on the back..no brainer really as i drive that stretch of road often and know those cameras are live.

when the gatso flashed twice i knew both i and the car in front were < 40mph but had a moment of panic where I thought, what if we get the NIP by mistake and the Zafira (i think) doing 50mph + in lane 3 gets away with it...then i thought there must be someway that the photo(s) highlight (using the lines painted on the road ???), which cars in the photo are breaking the limit.

when you are doing 40mph, its the large HGV's 2 feet from your boot/engine (porker) thats worrying.

Any chance of nicking some of the tailgaters in the roadworks pls?

anoying thing is that 40 is a sensible limit during busy times, narrow lanes, lots of traffic,. A few patrol cars would be good there.
