coming towards London yesterday I saw that behind one of those huge electronic boards there were the white gatso markings on the ground??

I may or may not have been going about 84mph, anyone else noticed these ?

thanks chaps.

Quite a few of the gantries over the M25 & M4 have cameras as my Road Angel reminds me frequently. Expect a NIP.

If it's the set just after J6 on the way in to London then they've been left there since the motorway was last resurfaced. Have never seen a camera there (since the roadworks anyway). IIRC there was a fatal accident in those roadworks involving a bike and they put the lines / camera in after that. Just never cleared them off afterwards.

There are lines without a camera just past the J5 entrance as well.

I wouldnt worry about it, I did the length of the M4 not long ago and there are 7 on the eastbound M4 and 1 on the westbound, no new ones for ages.

I've always wondered why the Eastbound M4 into town is considered to be more dangerous than the Westbound??

Oh, and I'm also wondering why the former speed limits have been reduced by 10 mph? I mean, it's not like people go for a stroll on the Hammersmith flyover, is it?? Surely it couldn't have anything to do with those pretty yellow boxes dotted along the Eastbound carriageway, could it? Silly me, what a cynical view!

Dont get me started on the 40 limit on the elevated section.

Why, why, WHY?

Its pretty much straight with big off barriers and NO chance of pedestrians.

That should be the same as the M4 shirley?

Well for all intents and purposes it is, apart from at the J1 on slip but you know what I mean.

Yep, agreed. It drives me crazy having to stay under 40 on the elevated section, particularly when don't-care taxis and bikes go whizzing past perfectly safely.

It should be the same for the rest of the M4. There was no reason to reduce all the limits after the M25 onslip except to catch more people speeding.

Its worse at the other end.

50mph past Swansea?

It seems only fair to put the limit up to 100mph past Cardiff...

If there were any unmarked cameras on the M4 towards London I wouldn't be able to drive anymore
