Came home on some B-Roads. Making progress (not unseemly progress).

Get caught up in a gaggle of cars. This happens. And it's one of those roads where there are limited overtaking oppotunities (Micra at the front is doing a whole 40mph).

And of course, everyone is nose to tail, making going past one or two cars a bit tricky.

Still, I'm not in that much of a rush. Go past one car. See a police car (well, van) join the back of the queue. Make my way past a couple more cars. The plod in the van obviously gets a call, and switches blues and twos on.

Traffic behind me takes a whole 3 miles to get the hell out of this guys way. I can't do much until he's behind me, and I can't find a straight bit long enough to slow the whole train to allow him to pass us all. He eventually gets past the car behind me, and I get out of his way pretty damn quick. I flash the car in front, who does the same as me.

This large white van then sits behind this micra with the sirens on for another good 2 miles (that's well over 3 minutes at the speed he was doing). It's a white sprinter, it can't get past in the distance he can see.

Micra driver not only fails to move, he fails to speed up, slow down or in anyway indicate he's aware of the emergancy behind him.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't. Van *finally* gets by, and Micra performs an emergancy stop. So I overtook him too.....

Oh, and if anyone lives on the Malmsbury road and owns a grey poodle with a red collar, the only reason FiFi is still with us is that I was awake, saw him trotting towards the road and I have *very* good brakes.

That was too close.

I tried to grab him, but he legged it. And I wasn't leaving my car paked on a fast bit of A road to find the hound.
