It's a public place

Filming and film? memory carding

More to this than meets the eye. Why is a band going around and around in front of a church?
Years ago in our town a band would march through town with cubs scouts guides and anyone else you'd care to think of in tow ending up at the bandstand in the park. Probably why it was called a bandstand

Indeed; it's marching season(WTF? Marching season? Do they migrate south in the winter?) and this is mild behaviour for these knuckledraggers(and I mean both sides; they are all morons of the first water).

A set of young hopefuls are strutting their talents outside the local priests door.

Last years hopefuls are objecting.

As someone who was born, lives in Northern Ireland heres a breakdown from a non biased approach (even though i would probably be considered a prod/hun by these cretins

supposedly Non sectarian orange order ( who have former UDA members) allows flute band full of former UDA/UFF loyalist paramilitaries to take part in their parade openly displaying paramilitary insignia and playing paramilitary sectarian and bigoted songs such as old favourites like "F the Pope" " Kills and Taigs" and the firm favourite 'The Famine Song" which goes to the one of a beach boys song (you couldn't make this stuff up if your tried)

so some guy films them openly playing a sectarian/ offensive song outside a catholic church while 'dancing around in a circle like indians'

so these planks realising they have been rumbled confront the guy who is legally filming within a public place and try to chase him down the street

anyway he's gets away and fires the tape off to the BBC

and the rest of the UK and the world see how many backward pricks there are in this little backwater of piss

Nationality has nothing to do with religion.

Not nothing; there is a significant amount of money to made from the various activities the guilty parties indulge in; racketeering mostly, drugs, dodgy diesel, protection, etc. The IRA and all the the other meaningless ego-massaging acronyms are mostly still there, they just diversified; no more pretence that it's even vaguely about freedom from oppression, just squalid criminality, money and power. The heid bummers got used to the trappings of power and have no intention of giving them up.

Good description.

If only all the residents had such intelligence and perspective as you.

Two of my mates are from 'norn iron', they both moved over here about 6 years ago for work, have no plans on ever returning, and take a similar view to you, regularly stating things like "They are all simply a bunch of infighting idiots and should just be left to their own stupidity".

The whole Catholics/Protestants thing in NI just blows my mind, I just can't even begin to understand why any of them would bother with it.
