On the front page of the local paper is a story about a 24 year old who has just been sentenced to five months in prison after 71 driving offences!

In less than 4 years he has accrued 80 points, 16 fines (wtf??) and has been banned seven times.
He has also been sentenced to 200 hours community service but only bothered to complete 67.

Yet it's only now that he's been locked up!

He was also banned for driving for 6 months...

iirc, the biker who did 150 odd got a tougher sentence.

Wasn't there another young tearaway in the north east who caused an accident in which a child was killed, and the culprit had about 89 previous convictions, including disqualifications, for motoring offences?

With the best will in the world can anyone see any sense in the way these cases are dealt with?

Best wishes all,
Dave.

None at all, howabout removal of thumbs, or if that is not enough, then removal of hands. If this seems severe then a life sentence may be in order, trouble is that costs the taxpayer a lot.

I remember when we were doing our Plod training, there was about £2.50 budgeted to provide us with three meals a day...

Apparently prisoners at the same time were getting about £8.80 or so budgetted for their three meals...

young tearaway

Far too PC for PH. We are talking about a criminal, a chav, scum etc. "Young tearaway" gives me the impression of 10 year olds cherry knocking, not some pond life causing havoc on the roads despite numerous court appearances.
