...that a work colleague of mine should be in fear of his license because some arrogant SCP won't answer straight?

He's been driving 18 months now, is a fairly sane driver who does his best to stay out of trouble - runs a fairly decent BMW, and isn't a nob driver, well, maybe does some daft stuff due to inexperience...

Anyway to cut a long story short, he got the double flash from a scamera van, but was def below the limit. The cam was fired by someone approaching very fast.

On my advice he rang the SCP office who were very unhelpful, saying that he should wait 14 days.

What barstewards. I can't beleive they take such a flip attitude to this. He is only allowed 6 pts in the 1st 2 years, and they can't even reassure the guy that all is ok.

Nice work, Essex. No wonder I despise you so much.

To be honest what did you expect them to do they have to process 1000's of the things and i doubt they have any way of searching them either.

If he was below the limit so knows he couldn't have set it off, and the camera was set off by another much faster car, WHY ON EARTH is he even bothering to ring them? Would you? I wouldn't. More than meets the eye here me thinks....

Ringing them up and expecting them to just tell you there and then isn't the way they work. I shouldn't imagine it's legal either for them to tell someone their getting points until they've checked the photo and prepared the paperwork for the fine/summons whatever at their end....

In that case he has absolutally nothing to worry about! Happened to a mate of mine as we were traveling back from the NEC last year. Gatso fired in a 30 zone because a car coming the other way triggered it. We were doing 29mph so nothing came through the letter box within 14 days
