A POPULAR Shoreham police officer who suffered a shattered knee cap when he was run over by a drugs suspect says it hasn't put him off the job.
PC Andy Misrahi, 41, pictured right, tried to stop the vehicle by hanging on to the windscreen wiper, but as the driver started to accelerate, he hit the bonnet and was flung to the ground.

PC Misrahi, who is married with two children, was taken to Worthing Hospital after his ordeal on Monday night and will undergo surgery on his broken knee tomorrow (Friday). He also suffered other leg and arm wounds.

The police officer, who has nine years' service with Sussex Police, said: "It was a drugs search which didn't go according to plan. I had searched the driver after stopping a Ford Fiesta in Upper Shoreham Road, Shoreham, and, when I went back to my patrol car to get a torch to examine his car, he decided he was going to escape.

Dear PC Andy Misrahi

I can arrange for your assailant to know how it feels to have a shattered knee-cap!
