Just come off the A3 today heading down Kingston Rd towards Sutton. I am stopped 1 car back at the traffic lights where a road joins the dual carriageway from the right (Jubilee something).

A Green 4*4 (Terrano) comes out of Jubilee to turn right onto Kingston Rd.

Anyway he loses it, overcorrects and ends up in the offside railings which are artistically rearranged in an appropriate manner.

The drivers then pulls across the traffic (not that its moving at this point) and pulls onto the grass on the near side of the road (relatively sensible) as his bumber is sticking out to the left of the vehicle by about 3 ft (amongst other damage)

Almost immediately he then backs out onto the road again (no way did he have time to get out and have a look) and drives off down the Kingston Rd as if nothing has happened (with his bumper sticking out the aforementioned 3ft to the left). He drives down the road about 1 mile and then turns right and vanishes.

I rang 999 and passed on the info (no problems with the accident - but driving off like that......... with that damage) and had a big problem explaining where I was (they didn't consider map coordinates off my sat nav to be terribly helpful) as I just follow what the voice tells me to do!

What I do have though is photos of the Terrano stopped at a later traffic light (and a nice clear photo of his number plate) when I managed to find the damned camera and a safe place to use it. Unfortunately other cars obscure the damage - which is a bit of a shame.

Report filled in and photos handed to plod at Sutton police station.

I wonder what will happen next???

Sean
