Friend got done for 100MPH on M1 7 weeks ago, he was given a ticket and told to expect summons.
7 weeks on, nothing has come through, how does this leave him? does the 14day NIP thing count or is the ticket his NIP?
Thanks

Barry

Slinky is right. NIP was served at the time he was stopped.

Note that 6 months is the time they've got to serve the papers to the court - the court may then take longer to serve them to your mate.

Friend stopped for speeding by mobile BiB and reported for summons as 4 mph over Conditional offer (FPN) at which time would be given a verbal NOIP.

BiB goes back to station and submits paper file through the system for summons to be taken out and sent to your friend.

Would have thought couple/maybe three months max to receive summons. However they have 6 months to lay an information and if they don't in this time scale then they cannot proceed - limitation on proceedings expired. If inf laid in this time then summons can be served after 6 months.

Issued with ticket. What ticket. A producer?

They did with mine which the magistrate didn't take to kindly so reduced my 56 day ban to 21 days. Never have I been so grateful. Although would have been nice to get away with it!!!
