Dark Window Criminal
Discussion
We discussed recently the dark/heavily tinted window charachters..
Well today a friend of mine, who works in a neighbouring town as a Bib, stopped a vehicle with heavily tinted windows. The only reason for the stop, was he couldn't see inside and wanted to excercise his powers under sect 163 of the Road Traffic Act.
As he approached the car, he fully expected the driver to come out with the bollox "I don't see what's wrong with them..hit the motorist in the pocket etc etc"....Instead, the car accellerated away...pursuit started with the vehicle eventually being 'stung'. Bloke who was arrested had only just bought the car, but had warrants out for his arrest for numerous aggrevated burglaries around the county...
What a good result!

Tinted glass=definite scally then...........
Stereotypes, ya cant beat em...just like the "all coppers are bast**ds" stereotype.......

Stereotypes dont come from nowhere.
Three cars over the period of 2 hours driving, one cut in front dangerously after overtaking about an inch from a 2into 1 lane, one pulled out from a junction direct in front of me, and one pulling a caravan tailgated me when I was doing 45 in a 40. - All BMW's.
If you wish to flame me for the above comment -I dont give a f**k. It happened and I have had no other driving incidents today apart from those 3. Had a passenger in the car that also commented.
I also saw a lowered fiesta with a "zorst" and neons drive round the town one way system 3 times with music blaring as I was walking to the bank and back - another blaitent stereotype.
Finally saw some maxed "yoofs" dealing drugs down the end carpark of "Maccy D's" most wearing burberry.- another one for the books.
I am not saying that some BMW drivers do drive with courtesy, or that some maxed car owners do it for the pleasure, or that not all spotty mcd yoofs deal drugs, but if collective groups of people didnt buy / wear / act like this then the stereotypes would not be born.

that drives at the speed limits and above and does not have a tartan blanket and a parker had on his parcel shelf - shock horror!)

(Rover 100 Driver
that drives at the speed limits and above and does not have a tartan blanket and a parker had on his parcel shelf - shock horror!) ive been pulled over more times than i can remember and im sure its because, in my various cars, i fit the perfect scrote stereotype.
for almost five years now ive been a delivery driver of some description, and for most of those i drive around, baseball cap on, in ropey, barely legal GTi's and hot hatches.
frankly the reasons the police give are laughable. "..because youre wearing a cap" is a good one, and one officer was even honest enough to say "because were having a quiet night".
HOWEVER, i certainly dont care that i get pulled over loads. my docs are always in the glovebox and it is interesting to have a chat with them (as can well happen) for 15 mins or so.
i dont care that i get pulled because it surely means that the rest of the twats i see while at work in blatantly illegal cars will surely also be pulled before long. the mechanisation of road traffic enforcement is surely undermining this and its a shame.

How sad that the police now think anybody with privacy glass on their car is a criminal..........no wonder lots of the population dont like them. (the police that is)

Good morning poorcardealer...
Well it's a good job the police did stop that car on that occasion, isn't it..?
The reason why dark/tinted windows get stopped (privacy glass my arse..salesman mumbo jumbo talk..
) is that the police don't know who's inside and what they are doing. It's not fair that other drivers should have to be seat belted and not use their phones, while those with dark glass can get away with all sorts of offences. Disq drivers have been known on many occasions to escape capture for weeks due to dark glass.
As for people not liking the police...You'll find that 'gerneralisation' is reserved for the very small minority of the population; criminals and tossbags.
The fact that you, in your occupation as a car salesman make that statement is a little bit "pot calling the kettle black"...(car salesman, traffic warden and estate agent in a rowing boat 100miles off the coast of South Africa, who does the rowing and who sits at the back? Who gives a shit...they'll never make it to the land anyway..
....old joke, but pertinant)

Hmmm.
Both my car and my other half's have the maximum "legal" tint on the windows.
Neither she nor myself have "anything to hide" however we both regularly have the dog in the car and this is the reason for the tints, to keep the temperature down inside the car.
Interesting to note that it would appear that every copper I pass would appear to view me as some sort of criminal

Don't get carried away Alan and please put what I've said into prospective.
Presumably, your dog neither drives, nor sits in the front passenger seat of your car. Consequently, your rear passenger windows and rear window (where the dog no doubt sits) can be as dark as you like. It's your windscreen and front passenger windows that we're talking about here. I too have a dog, a large ex-police GSD that gets very warm and my rear windows are legal tint too.
