Bit surprised you are not allowed to block the road, to the layman that would seem to be a very effective way to stop joyriders hoolying round built up areas.

Blocking the road is the very very final resolution...too many critics after the incident...

A good example is the juveline car thieves in Liverpool when they closed the end of the Mersey Tunnel with two HGVs..the thieves crashed into the HGVs and they died....loads of wishy washy whiners critisised the decision afterwards.

One thing I've always wondered about Motorway Chases, Motorways dont have lots of exits, so surely once they are on a particularly straight bit of road, the 4 high powered police vechiles could overtake, take a lane each and gradually bring the speed down so that even if he does try to ram chances are it wouldnt work that well. Or just an Apache Helicopter with Longbow missiles.

Tactical Pursuit and Containment..

Motorways are the ideal arena to TPAC vehicles safely...

By the way, car crime and getaway attepmts will go down 100% if all criminals are dealt with by a large Apache with big heat seeking missiles which could happily lock onto the little chavs in their nova trying to get away from the offy they just robbed.

You'd love it..Ben...best job in the world.....£30k isn't the best salary, but as the wife is a copper and makes the same, we can survive....

Having said that...the job is a hobby as far as I'm concerned...I can sort out chavs and get paid for it...

Currently working for Saab. Love cars in a massive way but could definatly see me joining the police after a few years if I wasnt happy. Spoke to a recruitment officer and he said they "prefer" to take older people with more "life" experience.

Will have to see how my current job goes.

Just keep it at the back of your mind, you never know...

Keep you nose clean in the meantime..no arrests or big driving convictions...
