Mods - Please move this if deemed appropriate.

What the is the problem with this fecking country ? ? ?

On the way into work this morning, I have just had some arle of a gorilla in a vectra decide that slowing down from NSL to 30 is wrong - bearing in mind the sign has a big 30 painted on it and there is a blind junction after the corner ! ! ! !

This knuckle dragger then decides that overtaking whilst on the horn is not good enough and he must proceed to then jump on the brakes and skid to a halt in front of me.

After jumping out of his car and ranting, he opens the boot and fetches out what looked like a piece of scaffolding tube ready, I assume to say hello in a friendly sort of way.

Funnily enough, I chose to find reverse and get the fk out of there quickly. He was last seen going in the wrong direction as I dived up a side street and cowered !

I have this idiots reg details - What (if anything) will the s do if I was to report this muppet ?

Probably write it down and forget about it.

Speeding is something they actually have to catch you doing as otherwise there is no evidence.
As for grabbing a piece of scaffolding - unless he actually threatened you with it (other than just picking it up) then what has he actually done? (other than being a total idiot)

Cameraphones are so useful. Just take a few pics of him & car reg etc & post it on the web wherever you can.Should have plenty of time to get pictures whilst travelling at 30.

Maybe he could be found and persuaded to be a little more considerate

I recently had a numpty deliberately try to cause an accident when I was in the Tuscan. A serving officer advised me to go to the local police station and make a statement. I believe the police can then go and have a word with the driver.

I'm sure one of our resident officers will be able to help. Perhaps you should ask in SP&L, or get a mod to move this post there.

Report him. I'm sure one of the BiB's here will confirm that he could get into serious trouble. Threatening behaviour, dangerous driving, etc etc.

All BiB needs to do is go to his car and find the 'bar' and the evidence is as you stated. How else would you know it was there ...........

Report him asap! You were lucky that no physical harm came to you. The next person may not be so lucky.

Even if the BiB gave him a friendly talking to, it would let him know his card was marked.

Report it ASAP..

At the time would have been good and you may be asked why you didn't if the situation was so scary. I would suggest that you had forgotten your mobile phone on that day.

Stick to your guns and pursue the complaints. Next time someone might not be as lucky as you and they might be killed or seriously injured.

This very same thing happened to a woman who I was following home one night. Some idiot had it out for me then over took nearly slamming into her. She proceeded to beep at the loser. He following actions are somewhat OTT he slammed on got into the boot pulled out a bar of some sort and went at her. I actually intervened though and pulled between them OK OK so I got the bar over the front of my car but what could I do? Anyway I think 8 months in prison was a fair swap for a small bump. I met up with the lady in the police station and she had a baby in the car with her too. This rising attitude toward fellow driver/humans is an outrage although in my town recently the police presence is on the increase and has put a little faith back into the police force.

Yeah I agree with that. They do a good jon I just think with the funding they have country wide police struggle to maintain a good presence on the streets to ensure people feel safe. You are right though. Our police do a good job and I think there must have been a recruitment boom recently so we have some new eyes now.

From past experience you are quite within your right if someone comes at you with baseball bat etc, to make a retreat even if this causes damage to the vehicle attempting to block you. Sod the damage to your car ram their car out of the way.

I used my Saab bumpers to push the offenders cars out of my way, I probably totalled his car in the process but I then drove striaght to the plod shop & reported it. I was advised I did the right thing, you never know the offender may be high on drugs & anything is possible.

Yikes. It scares me that he took so much offence to someone obeying the law, that he then broke the law and assumed such a hostile stance.

If I had that I'd have taken his number plate and phoned the police immidiately, and let him know I'd done it.
If he starts, and he's outside his car, you always have the advantage of being able to run him over.
The police know you were in peril so you have a right to then defend yourself

What is this country coming to!?

Think we need more cops on the road, like that'll ever happen

I must say some of these road rage incidents that are being reported are absolutely outrageous. There's nothing new about encountering examples of aggressive behaviour of course, but there now seems to be more of it, in more extreme forms, and it seems to be so very easily provoked these days.

Be wary, keep it calm and stay safe folks.

Best wishes all,
Dave.
