UK's first digital Gatso's

It's six metres up a pole, smaller than ever and there's no escape from its lens. This is Britain's first digital Gatso-style camera.
Called the SpeedCurb, It's made by Monitron International, and is mounted higher than usual partly to deter attacks from vandals.
The device is set to spread nationwide, Unlike traditional Gatsos, it has no film inside and is linked via a telephone line to a control centre. That means it's live all the time, and if it's set off will issue a ticket.
Dave Gollicker, spokesman for road safety group Avon, Somerset and Gloucestershire Camera Partnership, said: "We have introduced these cameras because of the parking problems in Bristol. When our engineers change the film in the cameras, we get complaints - but with these devices, we don't have to park at all."
The Monitrons haven't gone live yet, and white calibration lines on the road have still to be painted. In all, there will be 20 cameras in the Bristol area. Eight will be sited to snap speeders, with another 12 at junctions to catch red light jumpers. That model is called the RedGuard, but another device, RedSpeed, can do both jobs at the same time. Goll- icker said: "Once everything is in place, we'll tell people about the cameras and their locations through the media."
Thank got I have by Orgin B2 to let me know where these bad boys are located.

Alas, digital photographs are submissable
If that's the case, I suppose your own digital photographs are submissable, which show to to be in a different place at that particular time.
That'd be a giggle wouldn't it
"That couldn't be me, your Honour. Here is a picture of me, that wacky Welsh Copper and his good mates, Hitler, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, and Ronald Reagan having a big Mac in Mc'Ds at exactly the same time over 100 miles away."

I bet they burn just as well as the old ones...
6 metres? Well, I'd stump up a tenner for the first person to give it a Michelin collar! and leave no trace of how it was done. what about you?
Maybe we just need BIGGER flames!
What about: Angle Grinder Man!!
...
Thermal Lance? No? Ah well!! just scrub Bristol from my list of desirable destinations

Welcome Firefly, Yep!understand. Going to Scotland again next month to see a very nice ex-plod friend ( I'm jealous really, He's retired but has a part time job). Beautifull home and location. So No, don't count myself as anti-plod either.
It's not so much the Police but the political maneouvreings that get to me. As I said somewhere earlier, no-one complained when the Gatso's were set higher to catch the trully reckless, but now it's just a money making scam on a par with the mafia. A way of reducing direct Government Outlay for road policing and making it "self funding", and ALL under the guise of: "it's road safety we are thinking about". Yeah right! Gordon, I think is more concerned with the contents of his purse. Sorry Firefly! this is depressing isn't it!!
Burn, Baby Burn!!!!!
