Anybody know if the Small Claims Court is available to bring a case for damage sustained to a vehicle by the negligent placing of an inanimate object in the path of the vehicle?

Or do I need one of those solicitor chappies to attend a real Court?

Like a bollard you mean?

Why not ring them and ask?

You can use the small claims courts for damages/claims of up to £5k iirc.

If you phone them and ask a general type question that's non legal they will probably help. Ask them to post you a claim/info pack

You can do it online here:

www.courtservice.gov.uk/

They have a very good FAQ section.
