Might have been Truvelo'd Today - But Why?
Discussion
Because I put my foot down down briefly to give way to an ambulance coming fast up behind. Dual carriageway Southampton inbound 50 limit, I saw the camera too late & refused to brake when it was safest to continue until there was a gap on the left for me to pull into.
What are the rules? I will happily take it to court if I get done.

If you think you've got a good case I hope you'll fight it as best you can, and I wish you every success.
Best wishes all,
Dave.
Unfortunately logic often has little to do with it. I thought I had a cast iron case when defending myself on a charge, had a witness, but still got nailed. Then again, I've got away with so many other things by defending myself that I suppose it has to balance out... best of luck mate.

Two things...Firstly did the Truvelo flash at you? It should...
Secondly, the ambulance service have records of the incident that they were attending and even if the ambulance wasn't caught on camera, these records might assist your defence. They will release them to you under the circumstance, but the info will be sparse, just time of call, location etc.

It's infrared, thus not visible.
Innit?
Some Truvelo's do not have an infra-red flash, but instead have a conventional flash behind a magenta filter (supposedly to reduce the glare). I have witnessed a Truvelo flash a Mercedes on the A505 heading in to Luton, and one flash a Volvo on the A1.

I should cut and paste this from another thread every time...
Truvelos do flash at you. I've been flashed many times before on emergency runs. It might be infra red, super laser whatever other scientific answers are given, but you know that it's flashed you..

bloke on another forum got zapped doing 38 in a 30 moving for an ambulance. He contested it, got taken to court and fined £100 and 3 points.
Where's the justice?
Answer: There is none in this f*****g PC country!
My wife had a plod shaking his FIST at her, yes shaking his FIST (bastard) because she couldn't get out of his way quickly enough - she refused to bump up the kirb and damage my expensive alloy wheels. I suppose if he had been armed he would have shot at her!

I don't see why you should break the law to get out of the way of an emergency vehicle.
If you were in 30MPH motorway roadworks for 5 miles with an ambulance behind you, it's just not worth speeding up and risking your license to let it past.
Scameras will even do ambulances as did the chap in Lincoln.
The government clearly condone hiundering emergency vehicles or they wouldn't have speed humps which, apparently, are responsible for over 1000 deaths a year in London.
