Oi truck drivers!
Discussion
Can you explain why truck drivers use mobile phones?
Surely a job which means constant driving of huge dangerous tonnes of steel would make perfect sense to get a headset or handsfree fitted?
I saw one hell of a lot of trucks chatting on their phones over the bank holiday.
Why don't the company provide handsfree if its part of the job requirement? they can't expect you to break the law for there benefit can they?
Or have I missed a vital reason for it?

Even worse than that - the number of bus drivers i have seen sending text messages and calling on the phone whilst the bus is on the move, full of passengers has shocked me senseless!
I'd have to tell the driver to fck off if he did that with me on the bus...
If calling is deemed dangerous, then texting must be worse?

Its how they co-ordinate their .000005MPH overtakes at the worst possible times. Gotta have communication.
Got it in one!
Example........" here comes a beemer...wait for it,wait for it, wait for it,......break right NOW"
Works every time!

....and English and German and French and American and Italian and Korean and......well, all of them really, huh?
Did`t you know? We all have every other truckers phone number. Ever wondered why the rolling roadblock moves just a little bit to one side so just one car gets through? Well now you know why. I will probably get hung by Daffia (Truckers "Enforcement" team) for this, but thought I would share the secret with a fellow PHer.

Spoke to an HGV driver once, who was very close to battering seven bells of .... out of a company car driver who was piloting his vectra into the nearside lane whilst on the phone approximately 6 feet infront of said HGV.
Why oh why don't these knobs who refuse to buy a handsfree attempt to cause a major incident by diving infront of an object that takes the same amount of space to stop as a supertanker. I remember congratulating the driver for 1. Managing to avert a major incident, 2. Not knocking the blokes head off.
Sometimes I wish I had taken a bit longer to arrive.
Please please remember gert big trucks need gert big stopping distances...
And it does help if truck drivers stay off the phone too.
