I was on the night before last and intended coming back sooner, but our problems with speed cameras, rotten Government and all other associated matters just seemed to dissolve into total insignificance upon watching the drama unfold in Russia.
So I thought we could all use a wee dose of humility and think about those precious, beautiful children that have been taken from us; and hope above all else that the evil of this never reaches those kind of levels here.
This has taken the depths of human madness to infinity.
I'll come back to normal things tomorrow.

I am most definitely not going to open a can of worms here, because this is not the correct forum for doing so; all I intended was a very brief tribute.
But Street, if you don't realise what Delta is talking about you REALLY need to get out more.
I've spent over twenty years travelling and researching ancient religions and societies and I can most definitely assure you that our very freedom and way of life is seriously threatened. If you don't believe me go and live and work in some of these countries and it will change you for ever.

Hiya IOLAIRE....
I know what you're talking about; I worked in military intelligence for 6 years and served overseas...and I get out lots...(despite my numerous postings on here..
)
However, I think likening Russia to the UK is absurd in the extreme...
It is absurd if we were to compare policing in the UK 20 years ago, but now? Human rights for life prisoners? etc etc...We're as soft as you can get and getting softer...

I think you were all pretty much agreeing with each other, may have been a case of crossed wires i think?
There are plenty of people in the UK at this moment who would happily do a similar thing to Russia over here. Our security forces are working harder than ever to find this kind of scum. Unfortunately when they do the human rights brigade jump in and campaign for their release.....
The 'British' (large inverted commas) prisoners in Cuba? Let them rot in hell....

My pal owns a porinting company and used to do lots of work for russian companies (makes labels for vodka bottles ).
A trip would involve two body guards and a armoured car to take him to and from airport..........he was seen as a prime kidnapping candidate....anyway he no longer works for the russains as they are not very good at paying their bills.

Have a peep at this Sir,

and ponder on what has been happening here for several years now. Better get your prayer mats ordered.

Agreed and with the addition of the following statement: Theyre only British when it suits them, the rest of the time theyre something else...religious group perhaps?

It is the surveillance Liebchen.... the constant surveillance.
I lived in Leipzig for three long months and was based in Moscow as student for 6 months. (Took an elective lingo option and since I grew up speaking English, German, French, Italian as "normal" - Papa made us use the regional lingo when we travelled inter-Kanton - opted for a "challenge" like Russian - and still cannot speak it cos they would not let me mingle ....)
Anyway - can tell you that the experience was lasting and I did not like it one little bit. I also find it very worrying when I see similar Big Brother tactics being introduced here - and people "accepting them". During Cold War - this would have been uinthinkable.
On the other hand - we have bizarre tolerance for the vry criminal classes (apart from normal law-abiding folk who happen to break an arbitrarily low speed limit
Blimey - you must have been a very young "spy" - been in the police force for a while, served six years for MFI overseas and only 31 according to your birthday post ...
Blond hair too - I still think you are that blond who caused such great amusement when we watched episode of Traffic Cops based where we think you work from earliest post of yours ...
Well I read your responses this morning and it would appear you don't give up on an emotive subject easily; but Wildcat prompted the thought that perhaps this forum is appropriate after all.
So for all you debate-hungry Liebchens out there, this is how speed cameras, etc are related to religion. WHAT!!!!!!!!????????
Read on!
Street had said it would be absurd to liken events in Russia to this country and I can see why he would arrive at that, but I did not intend drawing comparisons between nations, what I was talking about was the corruption of the most ancient philosophies and writings on the planet; the taking of that corruption and hanging a name on it that people can relate to, Jesus, Muhammed, Jaweh, Jehovah, Krishna, Buddha, etc, etc; perpetuate the idea over hundreds and eventually thousands of years and hey presto!! the ultimate in mass control. Still not convinced?
Pope, Cardinal, Archbishop, Monsignor, Priest.
Recognise anything familiar about this? It's a command structure, just like the Army, just like Government. It exists to exert control, whether you like it or not; my God, half the time you don't even realise it!!
Our whole Western culture is built on this. The motto of the United States? "In God We Trust"
Ahh, but which one George Dublya??
Now if you'd chosen Muhammed the twin towers might still be standing, but unfortunately you were born an Infidel, that makes you an evil b*****d at birth!
So then it's OK to don a black mask, pick up an automatic, strap some explosives to your body and murder, maim and torture in the name of your God as opposed to their God 'coz your God really knows better, and by the way, he is the "true" God; I know 'coz I've been told that incessantly four or five times a day, every day since birth, so it must be so!!
I'm sorry Street, but you have to look much, much deeper at what is happening worldwide to understand the depths of this problem. It is at least two THOUSAND years old, and it's NOT going away.
There are HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of people who think and believe this devoutly.
It knows no boundaries, has no regard or respect for reason, logic, conscience or law.
It is the ultimate madness in the human condition.
You're absolutely right Street when you say that we are too soft here; that of course, is all the more reason why our society is much more vulnerable.
In the dark ages it was the Vatican that ran the terrorism under the pseudo-respectable cloak of the Inquisition. Again no boundaries, respect, humanity or natural justice. If we don't tackle this head on now, worldwide, in the next century God only knows what faction it could be, the Digital Gatsoites perhaps?
I draw your attention to my first post on Thursday the 10th of June which I concluded by quoting David "the Hammer" McNee, the former Chief Constable of Strathclyde Police. I will quote him again because I consider this extremely relevant.
He said just after the first traffic observation camera in Scotland had been installed on the top stantion of the notorious Kingston Bridge in Glasgow to a huge "Big Brother" type outcry,
"as long as there's breath in my body, cameras will never be used to prosecute motorists"
We have allowed and, by virtue of complacency endorsed, the insidious perpetuation of technological systems that result in the full weight of criminal law being used massively on a daily basis against ordinary, decent, law-abiding people with no criminal intent whatsoever.
The invention and implementation of these systems is being carried out by literally a handful of people purely motivated by political persuasion and personal gain; endorsed and nurtured by the Whitehall machine.
All of it possible due to our acceptance, apathy, and quite frankly, the lack of balls to really sort these people out. That is why I joined this site, to unite people and eradicate the apathy.
If you cannot see the danger at a much deeper level in what is going on here, then you have to get educated, you have to listen to people who have personally experienced the slow errosion of personal freedom for the substitution of political control, like Wildcat.
Just now it's speed cameras and all the associated technological devices, all of them without exception raising revenue. Now there's Fixed Penalties for being a hooligan in the street. Not correct and appropriate punishment, but just give us some money and get on your way you naughty lad.
They are crushing cars that don't have a tax disc!!
Get your head round this!! This is our Local Neighbourhood Friendly Licensing Authority doing this!!
Who the hell do these people think they are!!??
We have Thatcher-clone magistrates in England JAILING young single mums with children at home for not having a TV license!!
But behind it all is the outrageous abuse of power and the constant exponential thirst for revenue.
How many steps are there, and how close are those steps, before our whole way of life and the freedom we hold so dear is totally eroded, think about the words of "The Hammer".
At the heart of this is ignorance, in all it's naked, unashamed glory. Ignorance by the Government of the true will and heart of the people, ignorance of how we should address and improve the whole approach to driving, road safety and the transport system.
The easy option is always taken, treat the systems and hopefully the disease won't be noticed.
The time for acceptance is over; now we have to act and get the moral and social integrity back in our country and what more appropriate place to start than the traffic system.

Who would them be, then?
While we're on the subject, just where, exactly, did all the CND marchers, Greenham Common squatters, Ban the Bomb in our own personal Nuclear Free Zoners, Save The Walers and other useful idiots and fellow travellers disappear to when the Iron Curtain come down?
(Apart from the Cabinet, of course).

If that is the only reason for joining the site I would suggest you have come to the wrong place regardless of whether your views are right or wrong. For all that the press would state otherwise this isn't a website for political or religous activists to shout their opinions.
I think you were right in the first instance, this is not the correct forum.

Wasn't it apathy with respect to speed cameras, and road safety legislation?
Check his threads.

I suggest you take a good long look at what I wrote and think again.
I quite clearly and unambiguously referred to the apathy in this country with regard to the way we are treated by the politicians and the law, and it was in direct reference to road traffic matters.
If I wanted to be a political activist of the type you seem to think I am I wouldn't be on this site.
Furthermore, if you think you can separate the issues here from politics you are sadly mistaken.
What we have to do is unite people into a credible, powerful body that will compell the politicians to do what they are supposed to; represent us. I have been working on a way to do this for a number of years that I am convinced will work without becoming involved in politics, but still leaving the politicians with their reputations reasonably intact.
Just ask yourself if any other body is going to effect change. The AA or RAC perhaps, or any of the other well intentioned organisations? Forget it, it's been going on for years and they have got absolutely nowhere, no matter how good their intentions.
