Just seen this on the local news about the fatal crash of a driver being followed by police.

Funny thing is I thought these speed cameras would have stopped this.

I mean the whole of the road and surrounding rounds there are all covered by SPEC's, strange how speed doesnt appear to been mentioned this time.

So you are saying that chase related KSI's are excluded from consideration when cameras are installed?

To the best of my knowledge they are....

KSI during police pursuits are a very emotive issue...

The question is: should we do our duty and pursue a vehicle that is failing to stop or should we let everbody do exactly what they like, despite what laws they might be breaking or have broke...???????????

It is not intended as a trick question or an implied criticism, but it does show the folly of the whole system. Police chases are relatively rare (if viewed from the total volume of traffic) and fatalities arising out of these chases are even rarer. So to included such a fatality in order to justify the installation is plain silly. Cameras have no detterent effect on scrotes who get involved in police chases.
Bit like putting a camera on the Senna bend at Imola.

But, they DO keep trying...

How does it go... Oh, that's right. Cameras aren't working.... That's because we haven't got enough of them

Round here they are definitely not excluded.

During a heated debate about a certain road turned out the only ksi on the stretch involved 2 twoccers under pursuit. Having been found out they didn't put cameras in..........

just dropped the limit to 30. I give up!
