Toyota"

The cash starved NHS is hoping to raise funds by displying company logos on the ambulances.

Yes folks - according to Richard Allen is today's "MOS" - page 15 - Hants Ambulance Trust is revving up to find sponsorship for its 240 strong fleet and looking at deals of £250K to help the shortfall of £900K in government funding....

Out are the Hamlet cigar adverts, and booze adverts -

In are "reputable companies"

"Adverts will have to be discreet" says the Trust's Director of Finance who hopes to start this when as ambulances are replaced.

The Department of Health says that Ambulance Trusts are free to make their own decisions on the scheme but warned that the adverts should not undermine the integrity of the NHS.

Hmmms. I was going to place this on Gerneral Gassing but decided it should be here.

Carrying the NHS logo and clear AMBULANCE markings denote to all members of the public - be they in cars, panic braking in front of mungo, on foot, on pushbike, etc, that this is an emergency vehicle responding to a health relate matter and that the service is being provided in line with NHS values and in keeping with a service funded by the public purse

Adverts such as for starts the one in this paper:

Barclaycard: For life's little emergencies

The Ambulance in front is a Toyota

Commercial Union: We won't make a drama out of a crisis

have a broken leg - have a Kit-kat

Complete with the relevant firm's livery will just add to the general confusion on the roads....

What next?
