Travelling down the m58 today I was overtaken by an M reg Volvo estate doing well over the ton.

No problem except it had the nearside rear window smashed in and a half flat nearside rear tyre.

It hurtled round the roundabout at the Wigan end of the motorway and joined the M6 going north.

I stopped amd phoned the plod.

Was i over reacting or not?

Did a similar thing with a v badly driven astra estate on the A34 out of Newbury. Went past mates M3 at v high speed with lots of hand signs from occupants. Turned out car had been involved in an armed robery..... Got away though, but worth the 999 call.

Luckily our only reaction was w4nkers, lets call the cops!!!!

With a half-flat tyre he was a blowout risk even if it wasn't nicked.

Ah, but what if you don't have your hands free kit?

I saw some kids playing on the wrong side of the railings on a bridge over the M11 - basically daring each other to walk accross on the ledge holding the rail! Looked like madness (must be gettign old ) so I called plod on my mobile - no hands free kit though - could I have been 'done' or would this have been overlooked.

Have a look at the legislation...it clearly states that calls of an 'emergency nature' are permitted.
