Council Traffic Department Listens Shocker

I recently wrote to our County Council Traffic Engineering Department complaining about two sets of traffic lights near my home that don't seem to take traffic volume into account and appear to operate purely on a timer basis.

I got a letter back this morning (after chasing them by means of a follow-up letter) informing me that they've commissioned their "consultants to study the signal controlled junction to ascertain whether all the vehicle detection equipment is working correctly"

So that's a reasonable result, I was expecting something defending the way the lights operate!

So I'd suggest if you feel somthing needs to be improved for reasons of driver convenience or road safety then look up your CC's traffic engineering department on the internet and drop them a nice letter
