A bad/good incident that happened to me the other afternoon...

I was going through a cross roads on a green light (which had been for a good few seconds), when a couple of tossers in a lumbering white van jumped a very red light... I hit the brakes, swerved and managed to stop (just). I looked up to see the two tw@ts laughing and giving me the bird as the drove past....I was flucking furious to say the least..

But I laughed my ass off as blue lights flicked on from behind me and promptly pulled them over... I drove past slowly and wave cheerfully...

It made my day.

I had a funny a while back when I bought my first Golf GTI. Car full of scrotes behind me in a 205 GTI sat at the lights coming out of garforth in Yorkshire. Almost emmediately enter a NSL and 1/4 mile steep uphill which I booted it up when the lights went green.
205 booting it as well but 5 up. Got to the top of the hill and BIB are there with a radar gun, but pointing the other way. Slam on the brakes to get back to 60, and BIB, spinning round and zapping me, looked a little annoyed. HOWEVER, 205 scrote machine comes over the hill - screaming it's t**s off - and into direct view of BIB and their the radar beam.

I did laugh.

Nope...never has been...it's does of course depend on the circumstances, but Due care would be more appropriate, should a Report on Summons be required..

3 points and £60 fine is usually good enough to hammer home the safety message and doesn't clog the courts up, nor line the pockets of solicitors..

I think the problem is that jumping a red is very dangerous esp in this case BUT it is dealt with in the same way as say straying a 3 miles an hour over the limit at 2am on a clear road.

I agree with you about the dangers of red light jumpers and I never ever verbally warn them..they always leave my car with a piece of paper..

However, this 3mph over the limit business..is really few and far between....I've said many times before...you have to be doing nearly 40mph in a 30mph zone in my force area to be ticketted. (37mph).
