Hi hopefully someone can help. I got flashed yesterday in an industrial estate (high accident spot with loads of kids about...not!) Turns out it's a 30 and I went through at 40. If they want the fixed fine to stick do they have to have a speed limit sign within a certain distance of the camera to make drivers aware of the speed limit or do I just pay up when the fine comes through the door? thanks for any advice given

No.

There is no legal requirement for any type of signage next to the camera either for the speed limit or for the camera

Are you suggesting that they should be burnt too?

Ok, you get the files, I'll take care of the gatso.

Absolutely...!

The public can't decide which laws to obey and which to break, and consequently, I can't decide which to uphold and which to disregard.

If I don't like the laws of the land, then I shouldn't be in the job that I am. I should be elsewhere.

But you do all the time. Normally comes under the phrases "priorities" and "discretion"

The police have always pick and choose what is flavour of the month, which is why people get cheesed off and loss respect for them when they don't prioritise the same ones they would.
