Anyone tell me if there are searchable records of court judgements online, and how far back they go?

Cheers!

Noteworthy judgments in the High Court and above can usually (but not always) be found on bailii.org .

There is no full database of judgments in all courts, though.

Is it civil or criminal?

Ah, thanks. It's criminal and a year old, so may not be available online...

If you know the court, dates and details of the person convicted / acquitted, they should be able to tell you the result. You won't get much detail though.

For what purpose do you need to know, as there may be other ways to skin the cat.
