You have all seen these signs by the side of the road now right?

I came off a roundabout the other day in MK and was was completely distracted by a very wordy version of one of these signs.

Driving at the set speed limit it was impossible to read the whole thing even though 90% of my concentration was focused on what the big sign said and not whether i was about to contribute to the statistics :Hehe:

Does anyone think that these announcements should be at places where you are likely to be stopped anyway, like traffic lights or T junctions, rather than in places where you should be concentrating on the road?

Infact, I am not sure there is any benefit to them at all...and if there IS a benefit to having them, why not just have a recognisable symbol like a coffin, and a figure next to it to show how many deaths there have been in the last year?

See item no2 here should be don't drive like a numpty & position your car to the right, then we won't need the KSI'd signs.

Well I reckon we have far too many signs distracting us anyhow and this is one category I would eliminate immediately. The information shown can not remain accurate for long - if indeed it was to begin with - and it's of no help in any event.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Yeah i see them.

I feel nowadays that info provided by the powers-that-be beyond that which is functional, is simply spin, propoganda etc etc and ignore it.

So if there happens to be some real important info tucked up in there it gets ignored.

Wouldnt it be nice to see one of these signs with the truth on it for a change.

'17 Accidents on this route in the last three years, none of them speed related. Which just goes to show, DRIVE CAREFULLY'.

I find that the roads with XX bikers dies here in 19XX are the best roads to thrash. Everyone else did...... what a crock. Not you BM. The law. And not TR/SBM etc. Just the powers that be.

I think there should be signs outside every hospital: x number of deaths this week because of superbug. This would give patients more choice. (As in Labour's enabling parents to choose their children's school.)
