Hi Gary

Trying to get figures for the decline in traffic police numbers over the last 10 years.

Any ideas if there are official figures easily available?

I will have a look...

My own force went from 205 officers to 125, about 3 years ago..(they include motorcyclists and desk bound traffic management people...they have just started recruiting into traffic as they've realised that lowering numbers isn't a good idea..

I have a note in my reference book from June last years to the effect that Parliamentry Advisory Council for Transport Safety reported 12 per cent drop in Traffic Officers over last 5 years.

Use PACTS as keywork and you may bring something up if you search.

No...

Class 1 has just been renamed...Like the Austin Metro did...

Refreshers are still the case and will continue to be so..for everyones sake..

In our Divsion, 10 years ago, Ch Insp, 2 x Insp, 4 or 5 PS, 40 PCs.

Now: 1 x Insp (who does a load of other stuff too), 2 x PS (1 traffic (inc traffic management), 1 x firearms), 8 x PC.

Hey..DVD...no worries mate...you are the source of lots of information and your reference library is better than mine...
