I was sitting on the A40 yesterday making my way out of London. I took a glance to my left and there was a police motorbike with lights flashing giving it some good wellie down the foothpath along the side of the A40. Thinking i was seeing something, i did look again and sure enough, negotiating the traffic was not an option - the footpath was the way forward. I chuckled and then thought - but is that really allowed ?

Anything is allowed, depending on the circumstances....I presume there was nobody on the pavement?

It sounds very entertaining.....there was obviously an important enough reason and he took the decision...

If you ever see a large sports bike doing exactly the same or blatantly doing a red light jump...it'll either be nicked or a crime squad motorbike..
