hypothetically speaking what are you looking at if you are caught doing 110 mph. years ban...big fine, no chance of reprieve if the driver is going to lose his / her job as a result... For those who know me... it's not me, but a good friend! Honestly!!!

I've known several people caught well in excess of 100mph, none have had more than a 2 week ban, most got offered 6 points + fine. It's insurance costs afterwards which are the real punishment.

My old man got done of the M4 a couple of years ago.

100mph on a dry sunday afternoon = 2 week ban & £500 fine!

Yeah but a 110 is slightly different I expect!

Its all means tested anyway. If you have more money to pay you get a bigger fine & smaller ban. If you have a small income its a large ban & smaller fine.

Or you could go to www.pepipoo.com and try and fight the charge.

What would be the penalty for 120? 140?

18 years ago, 130+ on the M40: £250 plus 3-months of enforced chauffeur-dom... Got rid of all the previous point though!

Just a thought....if the speedo in the escort in question was saying 110 mph, what in reality would the car have been doing?? meaning speedos are not that accurate, and if you allow 10% margin of error, then the speed could be a lot less
