Swiss speeding fine.
Discussion
I have just received notification that I have been found speeding in Switzerland and I was wondering if it's worth an appeal? I had been in my journey from Basel airport less than 10 minutes when I was flashed on the motorway and I was over the speed limit by 5Km/h (c3MPH!). I have been fined 20 Swiss francs but bloody Avis have also added a 30 Swiss franc "admin fee" which is the main reason for trying to appeal it.
Is it worth trying to appeal along the lines of driving in a different country and trying to get accustomed to a new car? My mate, who booked the hire car, has already had his credit card charged.
Your thoughts please? Thanks.

That's cheap for a Swiss speeding fine, pay up and move on. A mate got caught quite a long way over the speed limit, got a massive on the spot fine, pretty much escorted out of the country, and when he got home found another fine from them for something like £800. Pretty cunning plan by the Swiss really, obviously he's not paid it but unless he does he's effectively barred from going to Switzerland again.

If I've understood you correctly your main reason for potentially appealing is the 30 Swiss Franc admin fee you been charged by Avis. You signed the contract that contained that fee agreement so you'll not get that back and as you've already admitted you were speeding I fail to see how you would win the appeal against the Swiss Government. Is it worth trying to appeal along the lines of driving in a different country and trying to get accustomed to a new car? As already said by others, pay the fine and move on.

I mean this in a nice way... Forget the foreign/Swiss thing for a moment. Read that line back to yourself again and imagine yourself in a British court trying to use that excuse. It'll never wash.Just pay your mate the £35ish quid and spend the next 15 years moaning about Swiss traffic police- over those 15 years, you'll buy each other enough beers that the £35 will be insignificant in comparison.

I got a 300 Swiss francs on the spot 'deposit' as did two of my motorcycling mates a few years ago for us all crossing a solid white line 'safely' according to the cop in the unmarked police car who pulled us all over. Safe as if it had been dangerous it would have been 900 swiss francs each he said. Nothing was mentioned about the speed we might have been doing. Docs/Licence confiscated and forced to follow the cop car to the nearest ATM to hand over the 'deposit'. Final fine due after being found guilty in absence 0 swiss francs.
Two times since passing through Switzerland since all done at the speed limit everywhere on our best behaviour since none of us had changed bikes (yet).
Just pay up OP assuming you ever want to legally enter the country again! Your fine is cheap!
