Anybody know what the reason was for the huge tailback on the M1 out of Leeds last night at tea-time ?
Hit the tailback as soon as we got on the M621 out of Leeds and crawled all the way to junction 42 where I gave up and took the M62 route to get home to Wakefield - big mistake - half of Yorkshire seemed to have the same idea!
Normally we leave Leeds at 5pm and get parked at home by 5.40 at the latest - last night it was 6.30PM - saw plenty of fed-up drivers taking to the hard shoulder to try and queue jump or get onto the other exit slip-roads.

Nah, Steve, they were all stuck in the same queue as me!
There was also a Prison transfer van stuck in the queue - Actually felt sorry for the insiders want ing to get home for tea!

Saw that build up going back home into Leeds last night, also saw what must have been about half a dozen fire-engines motoring up the hard shoulder, yet saw no crash and nowt on fire anywhere from J39 upto M621 city center.

Anyone know any different yet??
