Theres a recruitment drive for Trafpols at the moment and as a result we are getting a lot more into the 'white caps'.

Sadly tho, there is a down side.

These people are not skilled, many are not Advanced drivers/Motorcyclists/Vehicle examiners etc and because there are so many.......it could be years before they are fully trained.

Still, its a move in the right direction though.

Hi Tony.

Yep...I've posted something on another thread about the government whining about the increase in drink driving and no insurance merchants...

Hello Street.

Sad thing is that just about all the people who have left the Unit, either by choice or the dreaded tenure policy that recently existed....would not return to Traffic Policing at any cost.
Theres a lot of experienced ex Trafpols now knocking on doors and reporting domestics etc.

For once - Liebchen

am lost for words.... Short term measures.... bit like letting unqualified drivers loose on motorway - without teacher....

We want proper ones not pretend ones.

We are hard to please.....

I wont say which Force it was but i was dealing with an incident on the Motorway the other day with 2 Trafpol from another Force and one of them wasnt even a car driver full stop.

What would happen if he needed an extra pair of hands to remove a vehicle etc etc?

I had an experinced and qualified Trafpol in my kitchen a couple of months ago. Taking a statement for a making off, he mentioned he was taken off traffic duties because of age. He also mentioned that alot of Trafpol today have NO driving qualifications.
