Suspicious looking car

I know we all love a thread like this 
Saw this car earlier. Dodgy plates, non? Plus it's parked up (look at the tyres) so I thought maybe stolen & left sitting to check for a tracker. It was some kind of double-sided tape. But, I had a look at the tax disc and it has the same as the plates shown ie they are the true plates.

I think you may be onto something - that's strange about the plates for sure!
Easier said than done, but might be worth a non emergency call to Plod and get them to check it out.
I went to the gym one night a couple of months back, and parked up next to a car that had been left with the door wide open, badly parked (as in diagonal in a space), and the interior a mess. I called police on 101 and reported it just in case it was Something untoward. Didn't take five mins, and it was worth it for my piece of mind at least!

Why would you not just put the private plates on in place of the normal ones? Surely nobody just sticks them over the top?! Plus the OP said the tax disc reflected the plates shown. Hardly what id call suspicious.

I was thinking this, but surely they would torch the car so that no evidence could be found or break it for parts and chop the chassis...Not just leave it to be found and swabbed for prints

As said - most likely a getaway car on false plates that are then unstuck to reveal the real ones with real tax disc to fool plod.

Yeah because leaving a car at the side of the road with it's number plates covered in double sided tape is just what clever criminals do.Report it!
