Post Office refuse to tax motorbike...Grrr
Discussion
I went to tax my bike today and failed. I brought a completed V62 as I have mislaid the V5, I had the original MOT, insurance certificate, the fee(s), everything the nice man at the DVLA said I should bring but the post office system said NO. Error code 6005.
I rang the DVLA again and went through the forms with them and got them to check and double check the computer, no reason not to issue the tax disc said they.
Highly frustrating given I want to take my partner for a blast this weekend.
I am now faced with posting everything off to the DVLA Swansea as they have shut all of their local offices in order to give better service. At least a ten day wait for the disc.

You got all weekend for drinking now you're not going out on your bike!
I thank you for this.
It is a consolation. Well as long as I get the cleaning, gardening, shopping and bottling up of the home brew done as well. But tonight, yes , more than a few pints will be going in my tummy.

This happens all the time at my local post office. The lady is known for being awkward at the best of times. It's like i've enter a 'Computer says no' sketch from Little Britain
That's because the computer does say no. If you don't have the required docs/form/info or there is a fault, how the hell do you expect a PO employee to tax you car?Ryusen said:

Ours wouldn't tax a car from the 1st of the next month because I didn't have the current insurance certificate. I'd taken the new one, which started on the 1st, but it never occurred to me that I'd need the current one too.TC99 said:

Out of interest, what number have you found to contact them on? I've had some issues recently with taxing one of my cars, and couldn't find a number anywhere, just bloody automated systems and error messages.
