Complaining about potholes/shit roads

Whats the best method of doing this. I’ve always thought that it would be quite amusing to deluge the local (car hating) council with repair requests and at least get some semblance of value from my road tax.
I could be wrong but the council have two weeks from notification of a defect to get it fixed. If its not fixed by then they can be held liable for any claims/accidents etc. So its also in the publics interest to make sure the council know.

Anyone been through the procedure? What kind of location do they prefer. GPS or general directions?

My council has a page on their website for reporting problems on the highway, have you checked there?

Its funny really, on many of the roads around here (narrow residential), the tarmac is laid over cobbles. I'd quite like to lose the tarmac altogether, and just have the cobbles, it looks much nicer
