Invariably the information is laid in the court just before the six months are up, and the summons follows within a couple of weeks.
As soon as six months has passed from last October ring the local court (nearest to the alleged offence) and see if the information has been laid.
Do you feel lucky?

They have up to 6 months from date of offence to lay information with the court, then the court may take a week or two to issue the summons. The police / CPS don't normally get this wrong, but if you haven't heard anything after 7 months from the date of the offence you may be very lucky.
