driving home from work the other evening, and the local radio station had a 'think' advert (if you can call them adverts - apologies)
It was all geared towards educating young children as to how dangerous roads were, and for parents to teach their kids road awareness, how to cross, something akin to the green cross road.
Very strange.
Where they've got the idea that education will do any good I don't know. Children should be able to run into the road without looking as they've only got a 50% chance of being killed by a car travelling at the speed limit. Surely thats safety enough isn't it?

Yes,....It's Perfectly safe, the Statistics clearly show it! Why, if London wins it's bid for the Olympics, we could enter our kids in a new olympic sport of "kiddie Roulette". That's where kids are released from between two walls to run into the road, as cars are run intermittantly past at 30 mph. Whole Schools could compete and points be awarded for style and technical difficulty! 
On the other hand, we could teach our kids (Like the rest of the civilised world does)that roads are dangerous and are NOT the place to play.
