Q about Re-radiating antennae

Hi everyone!
I recently bought a Morpheus Geodesy Plus, second hand off eBay for a very reasonable price.
I have an Alfa GTV 2.0 Lusso and was planning to mount it sideways-on, down the left hand side of the centre console, next to the passengers right knee.
I thought this would be discrete and not spoil beauty of the dashboard by mounting it right under the windscreen.
Unfortunatley these things need to be mounted under the windscreen in order to lock on to the satellite: unless you install a small re-radiating antenna on the dash, then you can mount the unit anywhere within a metre or so.
The official Geodesy ones are about £50 on eBay and £60 new. But I've seen a cheaper Road Angel one for about £20. I don't fancy paying just short of what I paid for the main unit just for a small antenna.
Since these 'detectors' all use the same satellites and hence the same frequencies I assume that a Road Angel one will be compatible with my Geodesy.
Am I right?

Its a re-radiating one i'm interested in. Something like this ledfoot:

They recieve satellite information and rebroadcast it at short distance: i.e. just enought to mount your gps under the dash. It's just the compatibility between different manufacturers I'm not sure of.
