Camera Speeding Offence; NIP - Expected outcome???

I recently recieved a Notice of intended prosecution for doing 50mph on a 30mph road. The letter states a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal for consideration of a prosecution against me.

I would like to query what the most likely outcome of this will be as I already have 3 points on my lisence from two years ago.

Have you known anyone to recieve this? what was their outcome? what should I expect?

I will not hear from from the them til 11th August.

Up to 10% + 2mph : action not likely.

Up to 10% + 9mph : Speed Awareness Course (SAC).

Up to +30mph : Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN).

Over +30mph : court.

Out of interest, whats the turn-around time in regards to NIPs?

I received one on the 7th of May and posted it back the next day. Still not had anything back yet!

I honestly don't think you'll get 6 points but I'm no expert. As you probably know, 50mph is the lowest speed in a 30 limit that triggers a court appearance but I'd hazard a guess at a larger fine and less than 6 points.

Speed kills, so presumably you're up for murder. Life with a 15 year tariff unless you can convince them it was manslaughter, then you might be out in 4.

Scotland is tougher full stop. They have to put up with Alex Salmond for a start, then there are midges and the appalling weather!

No speed awareness courses though IIRC.
