Bizarre behaviour on bridge over A55

For a few weeks now, generally at dusk but sometimes in the morning, two teenage girls and five dogs
(assorted sizes) have been spending up to an hour on a footbridge over the A55 dual carriageway in N. Wales

They have been running, jumping, waving their arms in a frantic fashion and screaming full volume at traffic and generally acting as if they are deranged.

They are causing drivers to blow their horns and of course, when these are lorry drivers, the bull horns make one hell of a racket. If anyone has been in a car when a lorry horn goes off unexpectedly, you will know the shock to the system which can occur.

My wife was here this evening, saw them in action and wanted to go to remonstrate with them but I advised against. As an older male, I would certainly not appproach two teenage girls as who knows what they could accuse me of. We live in strange times.

Can anyone say if any nuisance or offence is being committed here. There have been several instances of objects being thrown onto the A55 from other bridges and if drivers see nutters leaping about on a bridge, they would surely be distracted and possibly in fear of having a stone through the windscreen.

My mole tells me these are prototypes, dubbed the Bruntrom Bint Mk1.

Sounds like teething troubles in this particular instance.........

Where abouts, Tafia? I remember reading in the Weekly News about the problems on the rainbow bridge just as you come into the 50 at Old Colwyn. I'm sure it said they were going to put a camera there to keep an eye on things. There's one monitoring the footbridge at Mochdre already.

At the highest point of the Holywell bypass. About 17 miles from Chester and 12 from St Asaph.

My concern is that if a driver thinks these clowns are waving to tell him to slow down because of an incident ahead, he could hit the brakes at 70 mph and then what happens to the cars following a few feet behind in the outer lane, as they usually do.

I will be raising it at our next council meeting and we have already written to N. Wales police and MP David Hanson to complain about the lack of police support in dealing with what my colleagues insist on calling speeding but I class as dangerous driving on the part of a few local morons.

If I recall, the problems at Old Colwyn / Colwyn Bay resulted in smashed windscreens on a car or cars below the footbridges.

I know where you mean, I'm commuting from the coast to Chester every morning. I haven't seen anyone on the bridge yet though. There were quite a few windscreens smashed over by my neck of the woods, though that fortunately seems to have stopped now.
